Egypt received the first tranche in January 2025. Cairo, Reuters: Egypt announced it has received one billion euros from the European Union. It is expected to receive a total of three billion euros in two tranches during 2026. Egypt's Ministry of International Cooperation clarified that the funds are part of a 5-billion-euro ($5.82 billion) financial aid package from the European Union. Last week's visit to Cairo by the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, helped advance the process of delivering a new tranche of financial aid to Egypt after she confirmed 'the disbursement of the second tranche of the financial package'.
