Security forces at a famous shopping mall in Egypt thwarted an attempt to sell a collection of suspected antiquities worth an estimated $12 million. Authorities apprehended three individuals who were trying to complete the transaction inside the mall. The incident began when security personnel noticed three men entering the mall's parking garage. One of the men was wearing a traditional gown, while another carried a red blanket in a suspicious manner. Upon inspection, officers discovered a sack inside the blanket containing several statues, each about 70 centimeters tall, believed to be antiquities. Law enforcement was immediately notified and arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. During questioning, the suspects admitted they had come to meet a buyer to finalize the sale of the statues inside the shopping center. The suspects and the confiscated items have been secured, and the necessary legal measures are being taken. Relevant authorities are continuing to examine the artifacts to confirm their antiquity and determine their origin.
