The incident occurred while he was participating in the Under-12 Republic Championship, currently taking place at the swimming complex of Cairo International Stadium. Despite initial first aid attempts and his immediate transfer, he was pronounced dead. The board of directors of the Egyptian Swimming Federation mourned the young player, announcing a three-day mourning period.
