Al Ahly files complaint against Senegalese referee

Egyptian club Al Ahly filed a complaint with the Confederation of African Football on Tuesday against Senegalese referee Issa Syr, who officiated the Al Ahly vs. Esperance match in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. Some of his decisions contradicted reality and could have affected the outcome of the match. According to the club, this is not the first time the Senegalese referee has made serious errors detrimental to Al Ahly. During a previous match in Cairo, he had sent off the team's striker Gradishar without committing any foul.
