Al Ahli Appeals Player Suspensions and Demands Referee Sanction

Al Ahli Football Club has filed an appeal with both the Professional Clubs League and the Appeals Committee of the Egyptian Football Association, contesting the decisions of the Competitions Committee. The Committee suspended director of football Waleed Salaheldin for one match and fined him 5,000 Egyptian pounds. Goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy was suspended for four matches and fined 50,000 pounds, while the club itself was fined 20,000 pounds. In its appeal, Al Ahli requested the cancellation of these decisions, citing a dispute with match referee Mahmoud Wafer. The club also filed a complaint with the Disciplinary Committee against the referee for his inappropriate remarks towards players El Shenawy, Trezeguet, and Hussein El-Shahat, as well as for an attempt to push them — a dangerous precedent in Egyptian football.
