A fire broke out on a tourist boat in the center and city of Esna, south of Luxor. 220 passengers, including tourists, were evacuated without any injuries or casualties. The boat was en route to the Asgon area in Esna Center to Aswan Governorate. Egyptian media reported that the Luxor Security Directorate's operations room received a notification from the police emergency services about a limited fire in the kitchen of a floating hotel on the Nile River. It was stated that the captain of the floating hotel managed to control the vessel's movement by docking it at an unofficial marina in the Waburat area of Esna, and all foreign tourists of various nationalities were disembarked without any injuries or deaths. Subsequently, the entire floating hotel was engulfed in flames. A report was filed on the incident, and the Public Prosecution was notified to conduct an investigation under the supervision of the Attorney General of Luxor.
