The international organization Oxfam International conducted research dedicated to the analysis of global inequality, which indicates that the fortunes of billionaires continued to rise in 2024.
Analyzing the data, experts concluded that the richest people on the planet were able to increase their wealth against the backdrop of a global economic crisis caused by the pandemic. Thus, forming only one percent of the population, wealthy individuals noticeably increased their wealth, while poverty and inequality remain a global problem.
The organization notes that the gap between the rich and the poor continues to widen, exacerbating social and economic inequalities. Moreover, Oxfam International emphasizes that the problem of inequality can be addressed by implementing targeted measures to combat corporate practices and tax evasion, as well as pursuing the redistribution of wealth.
