Egypt's Minister of Finance announced a new economic package worth 40 billion EGP, raising the minimum wage to 7,000 EGP and enhancing social support measures.

During a press conference, the Minister of Finance of Egypt, Ahmed Kuail, announced the increase of the minimum wage to 7,000 Egyptian pounds per month (138.5 dollars) starting from July of this year. This step is part of a new social protection package aimed at alleviating economic burdens for citizens.

The total cost of this package amounts to 40 billion Egyptian pounds this year. In addition to raising the minimum wage, this package also includes a planned 15% increase in pensions, increased funds for medical care at the state's expense, and the establishment of a fund to support small and medium enterprises totaling 10 billion Egyptian pounds, according to information from the newspaper Al Youm Al Sabea.
