The Egyptian government announced today that Egypt tops the Arab region’s list of announced and planned hydrogen production, transport, and usage projects. This advancement marks a strategic step toward clean energy and a green economy. According to data, more than 50 projects have been announced since 2020, with plans to build large production hubs in Cairo and Alexandria.
The Energy Minister stated in a statement: “The hydrogen project is a cornerstone for reducing carbon emissions and achieving sustainable development goals.” The sector aims to attract foreign investment and create new jobs in the energy field.
