Telecommunication companies operating in Egypt have announced that they will provide their customers with free international minutes to some sister Arab countries to check on their relatives abroad and enhance communication with them amid the current circumstances. The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in Egypt has issued directives to mobile operators in the Egyptian market to grant subscribers free international minutes to some sister Arab countries. It was decided that each subscriber would receive 5 free international minutes to be used to call the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, in addition to Jordan. The Authority stated that this measure comes within the framework of its keenness to enable Egyptians to check on their relatives abroad and maintain continuous communication with them in the current situation.
