Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced that the international company 'Apache', in cooperation with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, has achieved a new natural gas discovery in the Western Desert. The ministry clarified that this came after drilling the exploratory well 'Scal-1' in the South Klabshe area, as part of efforts to stimulate investment to increase local natural gas production and reduce the import bill. The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources indicated that the new discovery is located in one of the areas assigned to the company. The ministry added that the initial test results of the well showed achieving daily production rates of about 26 million cubic feet of natural gas and 2,700 barrels of condensate.
