Egypt Becomes Vital Corridor for International Flights

Egypt has become a vital corridor for international flights that have been rerouted to avoid airspace closures in the Middle East, the Egyptian Cabinet's Information Center confirmed, citing data from the travel platform 'Wego'. The center stated that despite governments updating their travel advisories to Egypt in light of the military conflict, all major international airports in the country are operating at full capacity. These include Cairo International, Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh, Luxor, and Alexandria-Burg Al-Arab. It was noted that Cairo International Airport is the busiest in Africa, handling over 111,000 passengers in a single day in February 2026.
