Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egyptian national team and the forward of Liverpool, confirmed that an unsuccessful start to his career at English Chelsea served only as a catalyst for his development and success with the Reds. Salah stated that he began to look at life differently, having decided to refrain from blaming circumstances or external reasons for his failures.

These words resonated at the 43rd annual Shardja book festival, which concluded on Sunday. Attendees waited for Salah for quite a while before his arrival at the Expo Center Sharjah and greeted him with joy. At the event, the footballer shared his sports and cultural experiences, as well as books that influenced his thinking and inspired him.

"The book I read changed my thinking radically. Instead of blaming the trainer and surrounding circumstances, as many Arab footballers do, I decided to extract lessons and evolve," Salah said.

He also recalled his first professional experience in Swiss Basel, where his demands and striving for perfection helped him become one of the best footballers in the world in the present time.

Salah drew attention to his compatriot, Omar Marmush from Frankfurt's Eintracht, but emphasized not to compare himself with him. "We should avoid such comparisons. They bring no benefit and create unnecessary pressure on the player," the footballer noted.

In closing, Salah expressed hope for success in the English Premier League with Liverpool and for the Egyptian national team's triumph in a major tournament.
