Miuș Farid shared on her Facebook account that the woman featured in the video, Dr. Nadia Shaban, a physician, was attacked by her husband - a veterinarian. Miuș recounted that the incident occurred right after Nadia and her husband returned from Saudi Arabia, where her husband's father was waiting for them at the airport.
The authorities of Egypt are conducting an investigation regarding the video, where the husband is harshly confronting his wife on the street in the Sharqiya governorate. The footage, where the husband is holding his wife on the ground, has caused widespread public outrage.
According to Miuș, when they were heading to their home in the Asaljahi area, near the Radjab Ayoob mosque on Akharar as-Santé road, the husband and his father violently attacked Nadia, despite the fact that she was pregnant, leading to the loss of consciousness and the fall of her fruit, according to local media reports.
Miuș added: "The husband and his father did not stop at this, they left her on the road near the mosque, leaving the bleeding woman unattended, until a passing tractor driver helped her."
Security agencies continue the investigation to verify the authenticity of the disseminated information and to establish the circumstances of the incident before necessary legal measures are taken.
