Earthquake Recorded Near Sharm El Sheikh

Today, a minor earthquake of 3.96 magnitude struck 113 km north of Sharm El Sheikh, according to Egypt's National Institute of Astronomical and Geophysical Research. No reports of damages were reported in the nearby areas.

The network of seismic monitoring, belonging to the National Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics in Egypt, recorded today an earthquake of magnitude 3.96 on the Richter scale at a depth of 16.07 km, 113 kilometers to the north of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Dr. Taha Tofik Rabih, serving as the director of the institute, clarified in a statement to the media that no areas around the towns of Nuweiba and Sharm el-Sheikh were affected by the earthquake, which occurred at a latitude of 28.83 degrees north and a longitude of 34.67 degrees east.
