
The network of seismic monitoring, belonging to the National Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics in Egypt, recorded today an earthquake of magnitude 3.96 on the Richter scale at a depth of 16.07 km, 113 kilometers to the north of Sharm el-Sheikh.
Dr. Taha Tofik Rabih, serving as the director of the institute, clarified in a statement to the media that no areas around the towns of Nuweiba and Sharm el-Sheikh were affected by the earthquake, which occurred at a latitude of 28.83 degrees north and a longitude of 34.67 degrees east.
