The disciplinary board of the General Syndicate of Physicians in Egypt has issued a decision to suspend Dr. Joudeh Awad from practicing the profession of medicine for a year, after it was shown that he violated the ethics and morals of the profession, and failed to adhere to strong professional conduct.
In a statement issued by the chairman of the disciplinary board, Dr. Mostafa Hashim, it was mentioned that physicians are required to act with responsibility and safety towards patients and the community, while avoiding any professional exploitation or unverified practices. It was also confirmed that the decision was the result of the doctor’s use of scientifically unverified methods in diagnosis and treatment, in addition to promoting drugs and therapeutic methods via the internet in a manner that violates the laws regulating the advertisement of health services.
On his part, Dr. Tarek Mansour, a member of the Syndicate Council, clarified that the Syndicate deals seriously with any professional violations, and that the penalties could lead to the ultimate removal from the Syndicate’s records in case of repeated violations.
Dr. Khaled Amin Zarak, the General Secretary of the Syndicate, added that the investigation committee conducted a comprehensive review of the doctor’s activities on social media and media outlets, and it was found that he violated the medical principles, prompting the board to take this disciplinary action.
