Dr. Ezzat: Doctors Must Become Social Media Influencers

Dr. Ahmed Ezzat, an Egyptian women's health specialist and medical content creator, emphasized that medical education and raising public awareness are as crucial as working in clinics and operating rooms. He pointed out that many patients do not realize they have health problems until they reach advanced stages due to the lack of timely and accurate information. Speaking on the sidelines of the second day of the Billion Followers Summit in Dubai, Dr. Ezzat stated that the era of social media has transformed how people receive health information. Patients now often trust influencers more than doctors because they see them daily through videos, live streams, and stories, while they may avoid visiting a doctor out of fear of facing the illness. He explained that this gap has led to the spread of inaccurate or unreliable information from some unqualified influencers, endangering public health. He believes the solution lies in doctors becoming content creators and influencers themselves, delivering correct information in a simplified and engaging manner.
