Egypt's historic coach and Zamalek legend Hassan Shehata is in stable health condition today in his first public appearance after undergoing surgery. Recently, rumors about his death had been spread by followers on social media. Egypt's Ministry of Sports published photos this evening of a visit by Minister of Sports Ashraf Sobhy to Hassan Shehata at his home, in the presence of his son Karim. Hassan Shehata, who led the Egyptian national team to historic victories in the Africa Cup of Nations three times consecutively in 2006, 2008, and 2010, is experiencing a health crisis due to stomach problems and underwent a delicate 13-hour surgery. Shehata, born in 1947, played for Zamalek and also coached the team on several occasions. He also oversaw other clubs, including El-Mokawloon, but his experience coaching the Egyptian national team between 2004 and 2011 was the most prominent in his career.
