The Egyptian government stated in a statement that Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli traveled to Washington on Tuesday to participate in the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council established by US President Donald Trump. Initially, it was reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might attend the meeting, but his office announced last week that he would not be participating. The Peace Council, chaired by Trump, was initially created to oversee the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the reconstruction of the region after the war between Israel and Hamas. However, it later transformed into a body aimed at resolving all international disputes. Madbouli is attending the meeting on behalf of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, accompanied by Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati.
