Egypt confirmed on Sunday the necessity of forming a joint Arab force to safeguard Arab national security, protect regional resources from any future threats, and provide a sustainable environment for stability. This came during a phone call held today between Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi to consult and coordinate positions regarding the serious military escalation in the region, according to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Minister Abdelatty affirmed during the call Egypt's firm condemnation of any aggression targeting the security and stability of Arab states, stressing the complete rejection of any pretexts to justify these violations, which breach international law and threaten to plunge the entire region into chaos. Both sides emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire to the current war and escalating military operations, warning of the catastrophic consequences of continuing the escalation. Minister Abdelatty stated that prioritizing the diplomatic track and dialogue is the only option to contain the current crisis and spare the peoples of the region from the ravages of prolonged conflict. The call also addressed future regional arrangements, where Minister Abdelatty stressed the utmost importance of formulating a clear vision for regional and security arrangements after the war ends, noting the need to activate joint Arab frameworks and establish effective security mechanisms, foremost among them the creation of a joint Arab force, to ensure the preservation of Arab national security, protect regional resources from any future threats, and provide a sustainable environment for stability. At the end of the call, the two ministers agreed to continue channels of consultation and close and ongoing coordination between Cairo and Amman within the framework of Arab efforts to restore peace and security in the region.
