Ahmed Hassan "Mido", a former international footballer and member of the planning committee of the club "Zamalek", revealed the club's first reaction to the crisis caused by their refusal of the traditional super match against "Al Ahly" to participate in the Egyptian championship due to the absence of an assigned referee brigade due to national leagues and the football union, which led to a defeat with a score of 0-3 due to their absence on the field.
Mido stated on the air of the "Zamalek" channel: "The club's management managed the crisis and insisted on the legal rights of 'Zamalek', there was no side in the decision of 'Al Ahly', and they will face the consequences of their decision." He explained: "For 'Zamalek', the match has already passed and is closed, but everyone knows that the club's representatives do not allow harm to the club, and I tell the club's fans - do not let anyone tell you that 'Zamalek' will go to negotiations, this does not happen... Everyone knows: we will defend the rights of 'Zamalek' until the last day of our lives."
He concluded: "Previous discussions about agreements on negotiations and the refusal of the club’s rights in exchange for certain advantages are no longer relevant. We will fight for the rights of 'Zamalek' until the last day." It was noted that 'Al Ahly' threatened to withdraw from participating in the Egyptian championship if an international referee bureau is not appointed for the match against 'Zamalek'. The club insisted on its decision, which forced the Egyptian league to adopt a decision to include them three points and remove them from their total score at the end of the season, which compelled 'Al Ahly' to file a complaint to the League and Football Federation in the Egyptian Olympic Committee.
