The leaked information refers to amendments to the Egyptian Sports Law No. 71 for the year 2017, which was prepared by the International Olympic Committee. These leaks have caused widespread controversy within the sports community in Egypt.
In this context, sports officials stated that the proposed amendments aim to improve the environment for practicing sports in Egypt and raise the level of sports performance, in line with international standards and contribute to the development of sports movement in the country.
The leaks indicated that the amendments could include a series of reforms, including the organization of sports federation foundations and improving the election processes for administrative bodies of those federations, in addition to enhancing transparency and combating corruption in sports.
In this regard, senior officials emphasized that the goal of these amendments is to strengthen the sports sector and provide a suitable environment for developing young talents and supporting athletes in Egypt, with the aim of achieving strong results at the national and international levels.
