Media reports on Wednesday stated that the two giants of Egyptian football, Al Ahly and their arch-rival Zamalek, are in a fierce competition for a Petrojet player. According to the newspaper Al Masry Al Youm, Zamalek has set its sights on Petrojet star Hamed Hamdan to sign him during the winter transfer window. The report also indicates that this player is now also on Al Ahly's radar, as officials from the 'Red' club have begun moves to secure Hamed Hamdan's transfer. It was revealed that Hamed Hamdan was close to joining Zamalek during the last summer transfer window, but Petrojet's refusal to part with his services, along with the registration ban imposed on the 'Royal White' club at the time, prevented the deal from being completed.
