The Egyptian Football Association has limited Al Ahli to two representatives at the VAR hearing, causing a conflict between the club and the association.

Egyptian Football Association Limits Al Ahli Representatives at Hearing

The Egyptian Football Association contacted Al Ahli Club to determine the individuals who will represent the club at the hearing regarding the incident between the on-field referee and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the recent match against Ceramica Cleopatra. The hearing is scheduled for Sunday at the association's headquarters. Al Ahli responded that a delegation to represent the club at the hearing has been formed, refusing to specify the names, titles, or number of attendees. In turn, the Football Association's board of directors decided to allow only two representatives from Al Ahli to attend the hearing, in order to preserve the dignity and sanctity of the referees, who are considered the cornerstone of justice in the game. Dr. Mostafa Azam, the General Secretary of the Football Association, sent a letter to Al Ahli notifying them of the association's decision to permit only two members of the technical and administrative staff to attend the hearing. Previously, the General Secretary had sent a letter to Dr. Saad Shalby, the director of Al Ahli, inquiring about the names of the attendees for the VAR discussion, but the director did not respond to the inquiry and only stated that board member Sayed Abdel Hafez would attend with a group of individuals, declining to provide names. This prompted the Football Association's board to decide to allow only two representatives from the technical and administrative staff, excluding Sayed Abdel Hafez, to maintain the authority of the Football Association.
