The Zamalek football club secured a place in the final of the Egypt Super Cup after defeating Pyramids in a penalty shootout 5-4 on Sunday. The match ended with a score of 1-1 in regular time. Zamalek faced difficulties even before the match started due to an injury to defender Omar Ghaber. The coach of the team, Jose Gomes, was forced to make changes and bring Mohamed Shehat in the center of defense. However, Pyramids began to control the game earlier and managed to open the scoring after a pass from Ramadan Sobhi. Zamalek was able to get back into the game, but they had only one chance, which they failed to realize through Zizo.
Before the end of the first half, Zamalek managed to equalize the score thanks to a goal from Nasser Maher. Pyramids, in turn, missed the opportunity to score again, failing to convert a penalty. In the penalty shootout, each shot for Zamalek turned out to be accurate, while the former player of the Mustaqbal club, Fathey, could not realize the moment to stand out in the penalty area of Pyramids.
