At the International Cairo Book Fair this year, special attention is dedicated to books about outstanding personalities of Egyptian art. This is a distinctive sign of respect for their legacy, which continues to live in the hearts of readers despite decades since their departure from life, and an attempt by authors to restore attention to the names of those creative individuals who remained in the shadows.
On the front panel was the singer Um Kulthum (1898 - 1975), to whom several books are dedicated. One of them is "Um Kulthum: From Birth to Legend" by Hasan Abdelmajid, published by "Divanum." The publishing house "Ibdaa" released a book in memory of the 50th anniversary of Um Kulthum's death titled "The Mistress of Greatness: Um Kulthum" by Mukhammeda Shouki, as well as "Um Kulthum and the Turks" by the Turkish researcher Murad Uzilderim, published by "Marfa." Additionally, one should mention the book "Um Kulthum and Her Contemporaries" by Ibrahim Shukri.
Writer and journalist Sheriff Saleh contributed his share to the preservation of the memory of Um Kulthum through a novel titled "The Madness of Um Kulthum," published by the "Egyptian-Lebanese" publishing house, in which he described 270 pages of medium format.
