Egyptian composer Omar Khairat, nephew of the famous architect and founder of the Egyptian Conservatory Abu Bakr Khairat, enriched the Egyptian musical library with symphonic works. His connection with the piano began at the Egyptian Conservatory, where he was in the first cohort in 1959, studying under the Italian professor 'Caro' and also pursuing musical theory. He then moved to London to study composition at Trinity College, which shaped his independent musical personality as a professional composer who crafts unique musical phrases characterized by depth, richness, and flow. He first appeared before the public through the film score for 'Night of the Arrest of Fatma' in 1983. Yesterday, Egyptian musician Omar Khairat suffered a sudden health crisis that necessitated his hospitalization for treatment. A source close to Khairat revealed that he is suffering from shortness of breath and low blood oxygen levels after a severe cold that led to serious complications. Upon arriving at a private hospital in Cairo, he underwent medical tests and analyses, and the doctors admitted him to the intensive care unit for close monitoring until his condition improves. The medical team advised that he must remain in the hospital for the upcoming period and avoid any exertion to prevent a deterioration of his condition. Accordingly, the management of Omar Khairat's work has canceled all his upcoming artistic commitments until his health improves. Omar Ali Mahmoud Khairat was born on November 11, 1947, in the Sayeda Zeinab district of Cairo to a cultured family that loved the arts.
