On Saturday in Cairo, a delegation from the Hamas movement arrived to conduct talks on a ceasefire in the Gaza sector.
The meetings take place after heightened tension on the border between the Palestinian territories and Israel. According to information from the representatives of the movement, they are ready for dialogue and consideration of options for achieving a lasting ceasefire.
"We arrived in Egypt with a readiness for dialogue on the possibility of achieving a lasting ceasefire and halting Israel's aggression," quotes one of the delegation members.
The holding of such consultations in the capital of Egypt is not unusual and regularly occurs in cases of emerging conflicts in the region, as well as for searching for possible solutions to ease tensions.
