An Egyptian court has acquitted the defendants in the case of assaulting former President Hosni Mubarak, a case known in the media as the "Suez Elderly Man" incident. The ruling came after the victim withdrew the criminal charges of assault, insult, and defamation and reconciled with the defendants.
The story began when a video surfaced showing a man in his thirties slapping an elderly man, which sparked public outrage in Egypt. Following this, Egypt's Ministry of Interior arrested the suspect and his brother.
According to the victim's family, the incident occurred inside a house in the Suez Governorate, which belongs to one of the defendants. The attack took place while the defendants and their brother were attempting to force the family out of the home, accusing them of stealing the apartment's contents.
