Egypt Slows Major Projects to Save Fuel

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated on Saturday that the government will slow down the implementation of major government projects that require high fuel and diesel consumption for two months. This step aims to rationalize consumption. This measure is part of broader actions to counter the economic repercussions of the Iran war, which has led to rising energy prices and pressure on the public finances. Egyptian Finance Minister Ahmed Kojok clarified that the cost of debt service will increase by five percent in the next fiscal year.
