The head of the Professional League of Egyptian Clubs, Ahmed Diab, announced that the name of the League Cup has been changed to the Egyptian Capital Cup. "This decision was made at a round table with the participation of club representatives to emphasize the significance of the capital Cairo in the country's football competitions," Diab said.
This name change is also intended to attract more attention to the tournament and raise its prestige in the eyes of the fans.
