Egyptian actress Nelly Karim is preparing to return to television screens with a social psychological drama that will bring her back to the Ramadan competition after a two-year absence from major works. Nelly is also preparing for the release of her new film "A Marriage or a Funeral", directed by Amira Diab, starring Adel Karam, Laila Eloui, Intisar, and Mahmoud El-Bazawi. The film is in a light social genre that combines comedy and human situations. Actress Nelly Karim mocked rumors of her connection to a famous Egyptian goalkeeper, describing the news as "a load of nonsense". The Egyptian artist put an end to the controversy surrounding rumors of her relationship with a former goalkeeper who is fifteen years younger her, after the news spread widely on social media in recent hours. Nelly Karim denied the accuracy of the circulating information to local media, stating firmly: "Very strange people and yellow press... a load of nonsense". The actress's comments came days after news of a romance with the famous goalkeeper spread, surprising her audience, especially due to the age gap. On another note, Nelly recently sparked controversy with her comments about men, saying in a TV interview: "Men these days need vitamins to boost their male hormones, and we can put that in the Nile." Nelly also recounted a difficult experience she went through while filming the series "That", saying she went through a phase of mental breakdown after losing her sense of herself in front of the camera, adding: "I looked in the mirror and asked myself, who is this woman? I felt choked and decided to stop filming, go out, and regain my confidence." On the professional front, Nelly Karim is currently continuing preparations for her new Ramadan 2026 series, which will reunite her with star Sherif Saleem. The series will consist of 30 episodes, written by Mostafa Jamal Hashem and directed by Khaled Said.
