Egypt and Russia Strengthen Ties in Strategic Projects

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin called the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in all areas of mutual interest. This was reported by the press service of the Egyptian presidency.

According to the statement, during the conversation, they discussed the project of creating a Russian industrial zone in the economic zone of the Suez Canal and the construction of a nuclear power plant in the El-Dabaa area. Sisi and Putin also exchanged views on regional development, particularly the situation in the Gaza sector.

Sisi emphasized Egypt's efforts, working alongside Qatar and the United States, to achieve an agreement to cease hostilities in the sector by October 2023, which is seen as a crucial step toward restoring the situation and ensuring stability.
