Today, according to the words of the Egyptian ambassador to the USA, Moataz Zahran, Egypt will not participate in the process of forced displacement of Palestinians. The diplomat also emphasized that Cairo strives to strengthen "the foundations for peaceful coexistence and respect for the rights of the Palestinian people."
These comments were made after Zahran's meeting with representatives of Palestine and Israel. The ambassador noted that Egypt is ready to act as a mediator in the dialogue between both sides.
"Egypt bears responsibility for stimulating efforts aimed at achieving just and lasting peace," Zahran added.
"We hope that our efforts will lead to a return to negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians based on a two-state solution," he emphasized.
