Palestinians Seeking Return After Gaza Exodus

Al-Areesh - The Palestinians who fled Gaza to Egypt are currently facing questions about when they will be allowed to return to their homes. Egyptian authorities have closed the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza due to recent security incidents in Sinai.

Palestinians in El-Arish are waiting for a date to return to their lands. One of the Palestinians stuck in Egypt said: 'We hope to be allowed to return to Gaza.' Another added: 'We are living in difficult conditions waiting to return.'

Egyptian authorities state that the closure of the crossing is due to security reasons and have not yet specified a date for reopening. Meanwhile, Palestinians are suffering from difficult conditions in Egypt, especially with a shortage of resources and difficulty in securing housing.

The United Nations has expressed its concern about the humanitarian situation of the Palestinians in the area and has urged Egyptian authorities to reopen the crossing to allow their return to Gaza as soon as possible.
