The Egyptian government announced that President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received a phone call from United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. During the conversation, they discussed Egypt's efforts to strengthen the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, including exchanges of detainees and prisoners, as well as providing humanitarian assistance in the sector. The sides also underscored their willingness to prevent attempts to push Palestinians into migration.

According to a statement from the Egyptian presidential administration, this cooperation is aimed at alleviating human tragedy, with which residents of the Gaza sector are confronted. In addition, it was emphasized the important role of the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees in this context, as well as the necessity of joint efforts from the international community to support and strengthen its activities.
