On Thursday, the U.S. State Department stated that the Egyptian plan for Gaza "does not correspond to the expectations" of the president.
In this regard, a representative of the department emphasized: "We believe that this plan does not fully correspond to the possibilities of bringing a lasting peace to the Middle East. We need to work with our partners to reach a solution that could help restore stability in the region."
Thus, the official Washington clearly expresses its opinion regarding the proposed direction in resolving the conflict in this region.
