Kaya Kallass, responsible for the external policy of the European Union, announced on Tuesday before the Security Council of the United Nations that about 3,500 people have left the Gaza sector and have already crossed the border with Egypt.
According to Kallass, residents of the Gaza sector are leaving their homes due to the ongoing conflict, crisis, and lack of prospects for improving livelihoods. She also emphasized that many of these people are struggling with low levels of economic stability and limited opportunities for sustainable existence.
"The EU is ready to offer its assistance to alleviate the suffering of the residents of Gaza and help them during the transition period," Kallass added.
The EU representative also emphasized the importance of restoring the peaceful process in the Middle East and resolving the conflict between Israel and Palestine through dialogue and negotiations.
