Egypt Stands in Solidarity with Jordan

The President of Egypt Abdel Fattah as-Sisi confirmed full support for his country Jordan and absolute support in the fight against all forms of terrorism and extremist groups aimed at the security and stability of Jordan, emphasizing the importance of joint cooperation for achieving the peoples’ aspiration for a secure and stable life.

This was stated during a telephone conversation between the President of Egypt and the Jordanian King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein. The spokesman for the President of Egypt, Mahmoud ash-Shinniavi, explained that the conversation addressed the current situation in Palestine, where the escalation of violence in the Gaza sector and the provision of humanitarian assistance were discussed.

The leaders also discussed the events on the western bank of the Jordan River and categorically expressed their opposition to any attempts to deport Palestinians from their land, firmly asserting that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital remains the only guarantee for achieving permanent peace and stability in the Middle East.
