Egyptian Council Bans Mido from Media for Two Months

The Egyptian Supreme Council for Media Regulation has mandated all media outlets subject to Law No. 180 of 2018 to ban former player Ahmed Hassan Mido from appearing for two months. This decision comes in response to statements made by Mido that contained insults and questioned the sporting achievements of the Egyptian national team from 2006 to 2010. The Egyptian Supreme Council for Media Regulation announced this decision on Thursday via its official Facebook account, stating that the action was based on findings from the Council's General Monitoring Department, recommendations from the Committee for Regulating Sports Media Performance, and a hearing with Ahmed Hassan Mido, during which he provided his responses on the matter.
