Egypt Proposes Mini-Deal for Hostage Release in Gaza

The Axios media resource reported that Egypt proposed the idea of concluding a small agreement on the release of hostages in the Gaza sector, within the framework of efforts to resume negotiations.

According to sources, Egypt proposed to carry out this exchange step by step: "Step by step, it can help prevent a new crisis and create an atmosphere for moving forward." Mediators claim that such an approach may be a small step towards a larger agreement between Israel and the movement Hamas.

Representatives of the movement declined to comment on this information.

Although Er-Riyad Talal, the press secretary of the movement Hamas, did not provide comments regarding this proposal, his colleague added that they will continue to follow their strategy in this matter.

The situation with the hostages has become an obstacle on the path to a larger agreement between the movement Hamas and Israel, and the resumption of negotiations in the near future is considered unlikely.
