A man from Egypt killed his wife, then placed her body in a suitcase and abandoned it in the deserted Fayum, where it was devoured by wolves and stray dogs. The story began with a complaint made to the Harama police by a young man who reported the disappearance of his sister two weeks earlier. The family could not contact the woman, and her husband gave inconsistent answers to questions about her whereabouts.
After the man's detention and interrogation, he confessed that he killed his wife during a quarrel, using a knife from the kitchen. He explained that he suspected her of unfaithful behavior, which led to constant conflicts between them. The man placed the woman's body in a large travel bag and disposed of it in the desert between Cairo and Fayum.
During a search at the location where the body had been disposed of, remains of the skeleton were discovered, subjected to decomposition and attacks from predatory animals. A statement was filed containing the confessions of the suspect, and the case has been transferred to the Harama prosecutor's office for further investigation.
The prosecutor requested information about this case from human rights organizations, suggesting to conduct a forensic examination of the body by an experienced forensic expert to establish the identity of the deceased, the cause of death, and other circumstances.
