The theme of the crisis, related to the invitation of blogger Khadira Abdel Razek to one of the shows, remains relevant. After the decision to suspend the hosting program and restrict its financing, the last step was taken by the channel that terminated the contract with the leading Yasmin Khatib.
The Egyptian channel Al-Nahar announced the cessation of cooperation with the host of the program "Tea with Yasmin" Yasmin Khatib following an episode that sparked controversy in Egyptian society due to the participation of blogger Khadira Abdel Razek, as reported by the agency "Al-Arabiya" on its website.
In turn, Yasmin Khatib commented on the decision to terminate the contract on her Facebook page on Sunday evening, writing: "A big thank you to the Al-Nahar channel for understanding my position and for fulfilling my wish to terminate the contract by mutual agreement."
Khatib also published a post in which she clarified certain moments. She confirmed that the termination of the contract was her personal decision and that she received understanding from the administration of the channel after the suspension of her program for 6 months.
The central administration expressed its opinion on this matter, noting that violations of ethical standards suggest a ban on invitations to unsuccessful guests, the values of which are wasted on Egyptian society, or support for the image of their parody, and also compliance with the principles and traditions of society and avoidance of pornography and disturbances to public decency.
In the aftermath of the Yasmin Khatib program, she communicated with her audience on her Facebook page following the controversial episode, stating that her programs were not aimed at scandal, but "to draw attention to the social unacceptable phenomenon, regardless of its popularity" - popularity of star-girls on TikTok, based on vulgarity and provocation.
She added that the invitation of Abdel Razek was not as a star, but as an example, emphasizing her reasoning in previous statements.
