Egyptian footballer Ramadan Sobhy has been acquitted in a document forgery case. The Court of Appeals overturned the one-year prison sentence and suspended its execution. The athlete was previously found guilty of using a substitute to take an exam. During the hearing, the court ordered the seizure of evidence and listened to the defense's arguments. All defendants, including the footballer, pleaded not guilty. The incident occurred last May when police arrested a person taking the exam instead of the athlete. The detainee admitted to receiving a monetary reward for his service. Earlier, the South Giza Prosecutor's Office had charged the footballer and his accomplices with forgery, but released him on a bail of 100,000 pounds.
