The 'InstaPay' application in Egypt has warned its users against sharing their personal or banking data via messages or phone calls claiming to be from the app. This warning comes after numerous customers reported receiving notifications about financial deductions from their accounts, prompting them to open access and allowing hackers to infiltrate their accounts through this scam. According to Egyptian media, users have lost thousands of pounds after receiving messages urging them to update their data, only to discover it was a hacking attempt. The Egyptian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority continuously warns against opening links or replying to calls from unknown sources, advises choosing strong passwords, and refrains from sharing personal or financial information with any party. In an official statement on its social media pages, the application urged users to exercise caution and use official app stores like 'Google Play' and 'Play Store'.
