Egyptian actor Ahmed Malik won the Best Actor award at the 15th Luxor African Film Festival for his role in the film 'Colonia' by director Mohamed Sayiam. The film also won the Grand Nile Prize for Best Feature Film. The jury's special prize was awarded to the Sudanese film 'Queen of Cotton' written and directed by Suzanna Mirghani. In the short film competition, 'Dreams of Dandara' by Egyptian director Sabreen El-Hassamy won the award, while the Rwandan film 'Whispers from the Wind' received the Best Artistic Contribution award. The documentary film 'Eyes of Ghana' by director Ben Broadfoot won the 'Diaspora' competition, dedicated to African filmmakers living outside the continent. The closing ceremony of the 15th edition of the festival, named after the late director Youssef Chahine on the occasion of his centenary, was held on the banks of the Nile in the presence of the festival's honorary president Mahmoud Hamida, its founder and president Sayed Fouad, festival director Aza Al-Husseini and numerous film industry figures and stars. During the ceremony, three actors were honored under the 'Stars of Youssef Chahine' program: Soheir El-Morshedy, Mohsen Mohy El-Din, and Saif El-Rahman.

Egyptian actor Ahmed Malik won the Best Actor award at the 15th Luxor African Film Festival. His film 'Colonia' was also named Best Feature Film.
